About Envoy
Envoy International Ltd was founded in 2008 by David Kennedy EPA. Prior to establishing Envoy, David was owner and managing director of Kennedys Patent Agency Limited with offices throughout the UK. His firm was sold in early 2008. Envoy began trading via its website on the 1st July 2009.
Envoy's headquarters are in Scotland, UK, with customers and suppliers found worldwide.
What we do
Envoy provides an 'on demand' online renewals/annuities service to IP professionals. We do not provide case management software nor do we take over the management of your clients' cases. Instead, we focus on improving the efficiency of your renewals/annuity department.
Put simply, our online system provides instant access to fixed prices for your clients' upcoming renewals. You can then choose which cases you want us to pay.
Our service is completely online and free to sign up and use. You only pay for the cases you instruct us to renew. You can use our system to check our prices, view official fees, calculate due dates and access powers of attorneys – all for free.
Using Envoy gives your firm all the advantages of a single supplier, such as invoicing and reporting in your currency and your language. Envoy can also be used alongside other renewals providers and your existing case management/docketing software.
Envoy is suitable for firms of all sizes – you can process one renewal, or hundreds of renewals at the same time. There is also no requirement for you to upload all your cases to us before you can begin using our service. You can upload just one case and start using us immediately.

Here are some of the people you're likely to meet:
David Kennedy
David is founder and CEO of Envoy International and is a Chartered British Patent Attorney and Registered European Patent Attorney. David brings many years of industry experience and leadership to the Envoy team. Although David calls Glasgow home, he's originally from sunny Sydney, Australia.
Tom Hovey
Tom worked with David in 2008 during the initial development of the Envoy system. Tom then joined the Envoy team full-time in 2009 and has overseen the development of the online system. Tom is also the reigning Envoy ping pong champion.
Steven To
Prior to joining Envoy, Steven was responsible for a multi-national corporation's large portfolio of patent renewals. Steven manages the service team and combines his encyclopaedic renewals knowledge with an unerring eye for detail.
Kim Magee
Kim is one of our Irish recruits and takes care of Envoy's accounts and all things HR-related. If anything goes wrong, she's the first person to blame ask – her science degree specialised in forensic investigation.
Claire Nichol
Claire joined the Envoy team after working for a variety of design and marketing agencies in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Claire is the creative brain in charge of Envoy's marketing and promotional material. She was also once on a reality TV show, but refuses to let us view the DVD...
Andrew Stark
Andrew is a genuine Scotsman who served time in Aberdeen providing software development, support and consultancy services to large oil companies before joining Envoy. Andrew is responsible for Envoy's technical team and development environment.
Allan Whiteford
Allan is a rocket scientist – almost literally. Before joining the Envoy team, Allan had a distinguished career at the University of Strathclyde, where he obtained a PhD in atomic physics. Allan currently provides contract software development, support and consultancy services to Envoy's technical team.
